Isle of Mull

The plan for this week is to base ourselves on Mull and run a series of day trips exploring this stunning sea kayaking location.

Mull has so much to offer the sea kayaker, with the islands of Staffa, Ulva and Iona all close to hand.

We will meet at Craignure on the Friday morning and decide where to base ourselves on the island to make the most of the prevailing forecast for the week.

Islands of Lorne

This is a great location for sea kayaking with stunning scenery and numerous islands to explore. It is also one of the best areas in the UK for an introduction to tidal paddling.

This will be a camping based trip as this gives us the most flexibility to plan our daily paddling to make the most of the prevailing weather and tidal flow.

This trip would be appropriate for returning clients or those with sea kayaking experience.

Dolphin Spotting (Moray Coast)

The plan for this weekend is to run 2 day trips on the Moray Firth. This area is rich in wildlife, and if lucky we may get a sighting of the resident dolphin population which are regularly spotted off Chanonry point.

As well as looking out for wildlife, we also intend introducing kayaking skills throughout the weekend, so this would be an ideal course for anyone looking for an introduction to sea kayaking.

Knoydart Trip

Although part of the mainland, the Knoydart peninsula is renowned for its remoteness. There is no road access and the best way to get there is by boat.

We plan to meet up at Mallaig on the Saturday morning, and after loading our kayaks with our camping equipment make our way round to Loch Nevis. We will find a remote campsite for our first nights camp at the head of Loch nevis. Our next campsite will be at the beach at Inverie which allows us easy access to the Old Forge, reputably the remotest pub in the UK.
